Sherone Price is a
dancer, teacher, and choreographer. He is a current
instructor of dance at Agnes Scott College, Moving in
the Spirit, in Atlanta, and Georgia Youth Ballet
Company. He was a member of John Gamble/Jan Van Dyke
Dance Company in Greensboro, NC from 1991–1995, a
lecturer at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro
from 1988–2001, a dancer and choreographer at the Otesha
Performing Arts Ensemble in Greensboro, NC from
1989–2000, Kombankofu Dance and Drum Ensemble in
Greensboro, NC from 1996–2001, member and choreographer
with the Delou Africa Dance Ensemble in Miami, FL, a
visiting instructor of dance at Florida International
University in Miami, FL, and an
artist-in-residence/Henry Bascom Professor of dance at
University of Wisconsin-Madison during the Fall
semester, 1997. He received his dance training at North
Carolina Central University, Duke University and the ADF
and he received his B.F.A. at the University of North
Carolina-Greensboro. He was selected by Talley Beatty to
perform his classic Mourner’s Bench at the 1993 Scripps/ADF
Award Ceremony. He teaches African-American dance in
community outreach programs. Received the 1999 Regional
Artist Grant to study West African dance and drumming in
Guinea, West Africa. He is a principle with Chuck Davis
AADE since 1983 and has been ADF faculty since 1995.
