Galina Vorotynova is from St. Petersburg, Russia. She graduated from the State Vaganova Ballet Academy teacher’s program receiving her Master of Arts in Dance and her Master of Fine Arts from the National University of Arts (St. Petersburg, Russia). From 1973 to 1978 Ms. Vorotynova was Chairman of the Department of Dance at the College of the Arts in Yaroslavl, Russia. She had conducted numerous teachers’ seminars throughout the former Soviet Union, addressing pedagogy and methodology for teaching classical and character dance at professional ballet schools. Ms. Vorotynova was invited to the Academy of Colorado Ballet (Denver, Colorado) to serve there as the Academy Professional Program Principal Faculty from1995-2005 teaching ballet technique, historical dance, and character dance. Ms. Vorotynova has staged original choreography and selections from the classical ballet repertoire for Academy and Colorado Ballet II productions. This is Ms. Vorotynova’s first semester with Radford University. As an adjunct professor for the Department of Dance, Galina Vorotynova teaches ballet classes and assists in all ballet productions.
